LOCAL GUIDE ICELAND
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to join Local Guide for two incredible tours during our time in Iceland.
The first, a half-day glacier trekking experience, brought us onto the ice at Skaftafell, part of the sprawling Vatnajökull icecap. We were joined by Lisa, an experienced Icelandic glacier guide, who kitted us out and showed us how to use crampons and ice axes.
The second tour was equally as interesting but completely different. After driving up onto the glacier in a super jeep, we entered into the unique Blue Diamond cave - a stunningly blue ice cave carved into the surface of the glacier from meltwater. The light and textures under the ice was like exploring another planet. Truly an incredible experience. Another huge thank you to Local Guide for this amazing opportunity!
